Ugandan Customers Explores Taizy's Multifunctional Corn Threshing Equipment

On March 19, 2026, a delegation from a leading grain processing cooperative in Uganda visited Taizy Machinery’s manufacturing facility to evaluate our corn threshing equipment. The client specifically examined two flagship models: the 5 Tons/h Multifunctional Corn Thresher and the 2-4 Tons/h Multifunctional Maize Thresher Machine. After comprehensive testing and technical discussions, both parties established a strategic partnership for equipment procurement and long-term technical support.

    Customer Background

Our visitor represented an agricultural cooperative based in the Eastern Region of Uganda, operating in an area where maize serves as the primary staple crop and economic driver. This grain processing facility manages post-harvest operations for approximately 500 local farming families, handling everything from initial threshing to preparation for regional markets. With Uganda’s maize production continuing to expand, the cooperative sought to modernize its processing capabilities to replace labor-intensive manual methods and improve overall grain quality for both domestic consumption and export opportunities.

Customer Requirements for Corn Threshing Equipment

The cooperative faced several operational challenges that brought them to Taizy. Their existing processing methods relied heavily on manual labor, resulting in inconsistent grain quality and significant post-harvest losses during peak harvest seasons. They required a maize threshing solution that could handle multiple grain types beyond corn, as Ugandan farmers in their network also cultivated sorghum, millet, and soybeans throughout the year.

Power availability presented another consideration—while their facility had three-phase electricity, they needed equipment flexible enough to operate in rural settings where diesel power might be necessary. The client emphasized the importance of clean output with minimal grain breakage, as they supplied both food-grade markets and seed producers who demanded high kernel integrity. Additionally, they sought equipment with reasonable throughput that could process their seasonal volumes without requiring excessive capital investment.

Corn Threshing Equipment Introduction and Technical Specifications

During the factory tour, our technical team demonstrated two multifunctional corn thresher models that matched the client’s operational requirements.

The 5 Tons/h multifunctional corn thresher (Model MT-1500) represents our high-capacity solution designed for commercial grain processing operations. This corn thresher features a dual-chamber structure that achieves threshing rates exceeding 98% while maintaining kernel breakage below 2%. The equipment processes up to 5 tons of corn per hour, with adjustable capacity for other grains including 3 tons per hour for millet and sorghum, and 2 tons per hour for wheat and rice. The dual-fan air separation system effectively removes chaff, dust, and light impurities, delivering exceptionally clean output suitable for premium markets. Power flexibility comes standard with options for 15-18 HP diesel engines with electric start or 7.5 kW three-phase electric motors. The single-sieve screening system allows quick mesh changes to accommodate different grain sizes, making this corn sheller truly versatile for year-round operation.

The 2-4 Tons/h multifunctional maize thresher machine (Model 5TD-1000) offers an excellent mid-range solution for cooperatives and medium-scale processors. This maize thresher machine handles 2-4 tons of corn hourly, with corresponding capacities of 1-2 tons per hour for sorghum and millet, and 0.5-0.8 tons per hour for soybeans. The machine incorporates three interchangeable sieves specifically designed for different crops—18mm for corn, 6mm for sorghum and millet, and 12mm for soybeans. Two large fans provide superior air cleaning, while the vibrating screen removes small debris, stones, and shriveled seeds. Weighing 650 kg with optional transport wheels, this corn sheller moves easily between processing locations. The main shaft operates at 550-620 rpm, optimizing the balance between threshing efficiency and grain protection.

Both machines demonstrate Taizy’s commitment to robust construction using high-quality carbon steel for frames, threshing drums, and sieves. The threshing components utilize wear-resistant materials to ensure extended service life even under continuous operation. These corn threshing machines require only single-operator oversight, dramatically reducing labor requirements compared to traditional methods.

    Customer Evaluation

Following hands-on testing with sample grain batches brought from Uganda, the delegation expressed particular satisfaction with the cleaning efficiency of both machines. The dual-fan system on the 5 Tons/h model impressed them significantly—the corn samples emerged virtually free of husks and debris, exceeding the quality they achieved with their current processing methods.

The technical team appreciated the straightforward screen-changing mechanism, recognizing that their operators could quickly transition between different grain types during harvest seasons. They noted the solid construction and quality welding, commenting that the equipment appeared built to withstand the demanding conditions of African agricultural operations. The flexibility of power options resonated with their needs, as they could deploy the machines at their electrified central facility or transport them to rural collection points using diesel power.

The cooperative’s technical lead specifically mentioned that the maize sheller machines demonstrated “the right balance of sophistication and simplicity—advanced enough to deliver professional results, yet simple enough to maintain without specialized technicians.”
